OUR STORY

Here at TokyoJim we are long time admirers of Suzuki’s iconic 4×4 vehicles. Whilst travelling the Greek islands back in 2015, I fell in love with Suzuki’s 1980’s Samurai model and looked into buying one when I returned to the UK. The lack of availability in the UK as well as issues related to vintage cars ultimately led me to buying a third generation Jimny instead. It is then that I completely fell in love with the Jimny. Impressed by its versatility both on and off road, I took my car on several European trips where it held its own on motorways and Greek beaches alike, its compact size meant city parking was a breeze.

When the fourth generation Jimny arrived, I felt like all my dreams had come true at once; the retro look of the older Suzuki 4×4 models but with the reliability and comfort that comes with a new vehicle. I knew I had to have one. Just as I had fallen in love with the new Jimny, it appeared so too had a lot of the UK population and I struggled to buy one from the Suzuki dealership. The popularity of the model inflated the value of used Jimnys and when Suzuki announced it would no longer be sold in the UK I decided to start looking further afield for one. A background in international trade made it easy to utilise our contacts in Japan in order to source and import the Jimny into the UK. After being asked by various friends and family to help them source their own Jimnys, I decided to create TokyoJim in order to help the UK population of Jimny lovers source there own dream car.
